Job Description

Position Summary:
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing and executing all HR functions at Border Valley Trading, ensuring compliance with state and federal labor laws, fostering employee engagement, and supporting business operations through strategic people management. This role serves as a trusted partner to leadership and a resource to employees across all departments, including office, dock, maintenance, and field teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations, providing support, guidance, and conflict resolution Lead talent acquisition efforts including job postings, interviews, and onboarding Administer and monitor HR policies and ensure consistent application across the company Oversee employee benefits, workers' compensation, leave management, and accommodations Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws (e.g., California wage and hour laws, OSHA, FMLA, ADA) Conduct training sessions on HR-related topics, including workplace conduct, safety, and policies Lead the administration of employee surveys and drive follow-up actions and engagement strategies Manage performance review cycles and support leadership in employee development initiatives Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation Collaborate with payroll to ensure accurate and timely processing of compensation changes, bonuses, and deductions Drive initiatives for employee recognition, wellness, and retention
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in agricultural, manufacturing, or logistics environments In-depth knowledge of California labor laws and HR compliance Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., ADP Workforce Now) and Microsoft Office Suite Bilingual English - Spanish.
