full-time Our client, anAmerican global media and lifestyle company, is looking for an Head of People to join their team in Miami Beach, FL! Position Overview Our client is seeking an experienced Head of People to lead talent acquisition, culture, and people strategy for a growing organization based in Miami Beach. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys building and developing people programs within a smaller organization. The Head of People will work closely with senior leadership on recruiting, organizational design, workforce planning, employee experience, performance and development, and employee relations. The role will manage one direct report, a Manager of People Operations, who oversees benefits administration, HRIS, onboarding, and policy.

Responsibilities:

Lead full-cycle recruiting across the organization, with a focus on content creation, social media, licensing, and brand-related positions. Develop direct sourcing strategies and manage recruiting efforts internally, utilizing agencies selectively as needed. Help establish and maintain a strong company culture and employee experience. Oversee initiatives related to onboarding, internal communications, recognition, and employee engagement. Partner with senior leadership on organizational design, leveling, spans of control, compensation bands, and headcount planning. Support workforce transitions, including employee retention, exits, and relocation decisions. Develop and manage an appropriate performance and employee development cycle. Coach managers through performance and development processes. Supervise the Manager, People Operations and provide oversight of the broader People function. Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations matters, escalating to the General Counsel as appropriate. Maintain multi-state employment compliance across California, Florida, and remote jurisdictions. Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, outside counsel, and benefits partners on applicable people-related matters.

Qualifications:

8+ years of experience in Human Resources or People Operations. 3+ years of experience leading an HR/People function or a major component of one. Demonstrated experience managing in-house recruiting at volume. Experience building people programs within an organization of fewer than 200 employees. Working knowledge of multi-state employment law, including California. Comfortable operating as a hands-on leader while managing a lean team. Ability to work in-office in Miami Beach.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience within media, entertainment, consumer brand, or licensing environments. Public-company exposure. Previous experience with a headquarters relocation or consolidation. Established network within the South Florida market. SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification.
