Job Description

Hiawatha Care Center is actively hiring a Human Resources Director to lead the facility's recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and human resources operations. The Human Resources Director plays a key role in attracting and retaining top talent while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws. As the Human Resources Director, you will partner with leadership to foster a positive workplace culture and support employees throughout their employment journey.

$21 - $31 per hour Benefits Health, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance 401(k) with Company Match Paid Time Off (PTO) Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Schedule and Employment Type Full-Time Days Key Responsibilities Recruit, interview, and hire qualified candidates for open positions Manage the onboarding process, including new hire orientation and training coordination Explain employee benefits, compensation, and company policies to new and existing employees Maintain accurate employee records and human resources documentation Conduct reference checks and coordinate background screenings Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations Update job descriptions and hiring requirements as needed Support employee relations by responding to questions and addressing workplace concerns Assist with employee safety, wellness, training, and engagement initiatives Represent Hiawatha Care Center at recruiting events and within the community Collaborate with department leaders on workforce planning and staffing needs Perform other human resources and administrative duties as assigned Qualifications Previous Human Resources experience preferred Knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and regulatory compliance, or a willingness to learn Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Excellent organizational, planning, and time management abilities Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel, and HR information systems preferred Ability to maintain confidential employee information with professionalism and discretion Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with employees and leadership If you are an organized, people-focused Human Resources professional looking to make a positive impact in a long-term care environment, apply today to join the Hiawatha Care Center team!
