Human Resources Director Hot Job Legal Address - Sioux City, IA 51106 Apply Apply Description Sunrise Retirement Community is seeking an experienced and organized Human Resources Director to lead and manage all Human Resources functions for our senior living community. This position serves as the primary HR resource for employees, supervisors, managers, and administration and works closely with leadership to support our employees while ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws and regulatory requirements. What You'll Do The Human Resources Director will be responsible for a broad range of HR functions, including: Lead recruitment and hiring for full-time and part-time positions, including job postings, applicant screening, interviews, references, offers, and pre-employment requirements. Serve as a resource to employees and managers regarding employee relations, performance concerns, attendance, disciplinary matters, workplace issues, and policy interpretation. Coordinate new employee orientation, onboarding, required documentation, and pre-employment screenings. Maintain accurate, confidential personnel records, job descriptions, employee information, and HR documentation. Coordinate employee benefits and serve as a resource to employees regarding benefit questions, enrollment, and changes. Monitor compliance with employment laws, DIAL requirements, required screenings, employee licensure and certifications, training, and other regulatory requirements. Coordinate workers' compensation and unemployment claims and assist with return-to-work processes. Track required employee training, certifications, performance evaluations, and other compliance requirements. Develop, review, and maintain HR policies, procedures, forms, and employee handbook materials. Support employee engagement, recognition, retention, and morale initiatives. Prepare HR reports and provide workforce-related information and recommendations to administration. Maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee and organizational matters. Why Sunrise? Qualifications The successful candidate will have: Previous Human Resources experience, preferably in healthcare, long-term care, senior living, or another regulated environment. Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment requirements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to independently manage multiple priorities. The ability to handle confidential information, difficult conversations, and employee relations matters with professionalism, fairness, and sound judgment. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and electronic recordkeeping systems. The ability to interpret and consistently apply policies and procedures. A commitment to staying current with employment laws, regulations, and HR practices. A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field is preferred, along with experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, assisted living, memory care, or healthcare.
