Job Description Human Resources Manager At AAP, we strive to provide our Human Resources Managers with a challenging and rewarding career experience where they can make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced, transformational environment. The Human Resources Manager will lead the HR function for our Distribution Center, serving as a strategic business partner to local leadership. This individual will drive functional excellence, build strong business partnerships, and lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of HR programs, policies, and initiatives aligned with both short and long-term business objectives. The HR Manager will also foster a culture that promotes employee engagement, accountability, and customer excellence. Essential Functions As a strategic business partner, collaborate with the local leadership team to establish direction, priorities, and cultural expectations while championing and embodying AAP's Cultural Beliefs. Key Responsibilities Lead continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment of key programs and business objectives while driving change management efforts that maximize employee engagement and ownership. Drive HR functional excellence through effective execution of AAP's programs and processes, ensuring consistency, quality, and alignment with organizational goals. Identify opportunities to optimize, document, standardize, and share best practices across the HR function. Build organizational capability by leading talent management processes, including talent assessment, performance management, succession planning, and employee development initiatives. Manage compensation, recognition, and reward programs that reinforce a high-performance culture and support business objectives. Promote manager ownership and accountability throughout the employee lifecycle, from onboarding through development, engagement, and retention. Foster positive employee relations and create an inclusive, productive work environment. Utilize employee feedback, surveys, and organizational assessments to identify improvement opportunities and develop actionable solutions. Provide leadership coaching and guidance to managers and leaders, helping navigate organizational challenges and drive effective change. Facilitate the design and implementation of impactful organizational change initiatives while balancing business needs and stakeholder expectations. Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives while ensuring compliance with all applicable employment laws, regulations, and EEO practices. Partner closely with HR Centers of Excellence (CoEs) to execute HR processes locally, including talent acquisition, payroll administration, leave management, disability administration, and other employee support programs. Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university. 3-5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience supporting frontline, hourly employees in a distribution, manufacturing, logistics, or similar operational environment preferred. Spanish language proficiency preferred. Workday experience preferred but not required. Required Competencies Ability to lead and champion organizational change. Strong business and financial acumen. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Talent management and employee development expertise. Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, both directly and indirectly. Strong cross-functional collaboration and partnership skills. Change management and organizational effectiveness experience. Conflict resolution and employee relations expertise.
