Human Resources Manager C&C Marine and Repair - 2.0 Belle Chasse, LA Job Details Full-time $70,000 - $90,000 a year 21 hours ago Benefits Paid holidays Disability insurance Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance 401(k) matching Qualifications Spanish FMLA English Workers' compensation insurance knowledge Manufacturing facility experience Bachelor's degree Full Job Description What You'll Do Run weekly payroll: verify and correct hours, verify hours to jobs assignment, process the pay cycle, handle garnishments, PTO balances, tax payments, and year-end filings Administer benefits: enrollment, life events, carrier coordination, COBRA, ACA reporting, and support the annual renewal Track workers' compensation, USL&H, and liability claims from first report through closure Manage onboarding and offboarding: interview screening, offers, I-9 and E-Verify, background and drug testing, orientation, terminations Maintain the employee handbook and HR policies Handle employee relations, investigations, and progressive discipline Manage unemployment claims, FMLA and ADA leave, and employment law compliance (FLSA, EEO, OSHA recordkeeping) Coordinate with staffing agencies on contract labor, conversions, and billing accuracy Recruit for skilled trades and salaried roles Own HR records and systems What You Need 5+ years in HR as a generalist covering payroll, benefits, and compliance Hands-on weekly payroll experience Industrial, marine, construction, or manufacturing background is preferred Familiarity with workers' compensation claims; USL&H exposure is a plus Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; SHRM-CP or PHR a plus Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Ready to be the only HR person on site and own the function About Us C&C Marine and Repair builds and repairs inland marine vessels from our shipyard in Belle Chasse. Our work covers new construction, aluminum fabrication, repair, and paint and blast. This is our first dedicated HR role, reporting to ownership and our office manager.
