Part-Time Position Summary The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all human resource functions at MT Supply. As the sole HR practitioner within the company, this role will build, implement, and maintain HR systems, policies, and programs that support operational goals while ensuring compliance with employment laws and best practices. This position serves as a strategic partner to leadership and provides direct support to employees across all levels of the organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities 1. HR Strategy and Leadership Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and systems aligned with company goals and values. Partner with ownership and department managers on organizational development and workforce planning. Lead initiatives related to employee engagement, retention, and company culture. Serve as the internal subject matter expert on HR-related matters. 2. Recruitment and Onboarding Manage full-cycle recruitment, including job descriptions, posting, sourcing, interviewing, and hiring. Coordinate and conduct onboarding to ensure a consistent and welcoming employee experience. Collaborate with department managers to assess staffing needs and align hiring with business priorities. 3. Employee Relations and Performance Management Act as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievances. Guide managers on performance management practices such as coaching, goal-setting, and reviews. Promote a respectful, inclusive, and legally compliant workplace environment. 4. Compensation and Benefits Administration Support administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance and leave management. Assist employees with benefits-related questions and coordinate with external vendors. Monitor compensation practices to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness. 5. Compliance and Risk Management Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel records and documentation. Develop and update employee handbooks and policy documents. Coordinate with legal counsel and external HR consultants as needed. 6. Training and Development Identify training needs and recommend appropriate learning solutions. Support development and delivery of internal training programs. Coordinate external training opportunities and promote continuous learning. Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not currently have direct reports but works closely with managers across departments to guide and support people management practices. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of progressive HR experience. Working knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and best practices. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism. Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Preferred HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent). Experience in retail or a customer-facing industry. Experience building or leading an HR function in a small business or startup environment. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer. Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. (office supplies or materials). Working Conditions Hybrid work model (remote and on-site at MT Supply's retail location in Big Sky, Montana). With 1-2 days per week required in-office and 1-2 days of remote work. Standard Monday-Friday schedule, with the ability to determine your hours and days worked based on business needs. The pay range for this role is: 40 - 44 USD per hour(Store)
