Human Resources Manager

Job Description

Provide Human Resources support to multiple site locations through working with management on matters relating to corporate and site policy, practices and relevant state and federal laws.



Responsibilities Advises and assists management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.

Responds to employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.

Assist and/or leads defining local policies, procedures, and programs.

Works with plant management to fill vacant positions through recruiting, interviewing and assisting in the selection process; facilitates onboarding and retention efforts.

Coordinates management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, and sexual harassment and collaborates with other managers to identify training and development opportunities for employees.

Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance carrier.

Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurance, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.

Leads discussions with union representatives.

Travel is required. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or related field.

5 to 8 years Human Resources Manager experience.

Previous experience with HRIS systems.

Previous experience working with unions.

Previous experience negotiating union contracts.

Knowledge of applicable employment laws including FLSA, FMLA, Worker Compensation, and Equal Employment Opportunity, ADA.

Demonstrated successful ability to build positive relationships and partnerships within department and across the organization.

Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
