We are looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager to support a broad range of people operations activities in Westport, Connecticut. This Long-term Contract position will lead core HR processes across the employee journey, including onboarding, employee changes, employee relations, compliance, and offboarding. The role also serves as a key resource for managers and employees by providing guidance on performance, engagement, policies, and day-to-day HR matters. Success in this position requires strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate effectively across HR, payroll, benefits, and internal systems.
Responsibilities:
Guide employees through key stages of employment, from initial onboarding through internal movement and separation, while maintaining accurate records and a consistent experience.
Monitor incoming HR requests, respond within expected timelines, and route matters appropriately when additional support or specialized handling is needed.
Coordinate employee status updates such as transfers and other changes, ensuring documentation is complete and aligned with company policy, payroll requirements, and HRIS records.
Administer onboarding and offboarding activities, including process documentation updates and ongoing improvements to standard operating procedures and reference materials.
Maintain personnel files and related HR records across entities, including oversight of internal HR content and administrative updates.
Facilitate recurring HR office hours and provide practical support to managers and employees on workplace concerns affecting engagement, performance, morale, and development.
Support employee relations matters below the senior leadership level by identifying underlying issues, recommending solutions, and helping managers address concerns effectively.
Oversee performance improvement processes and employee check-in programs, including milestone reviews such as 30-, 60-, and 90-day follow-ups, annual touchpoints, and exit feedback.
Contribute to policy and handbook management by researching requirements, drafting updates, and interpreting guidelines in line with legal and organizational standards.
Manage additional HR operational responsibilities such as benefits billing reconciliation, job description recordkeeping, work authorization document tracking, and annual review administration as needed.
