We are looking for a motivated, organized, and people-focused HR Generalist to support our growing team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working directly with people, building strong teams, recruiting great employees, and helping create a positive and professional workplace culture. Position Overview The HR Generalist will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day human resources needs across all three dental offices. A significant portion of this position will involve recruiting, communicating with candidates, scheduling interviews, coordinating onboarding and training, and handling employee-related matters . The successful candidate will regularly travel between our Plainfield, Clarendon Hills, and New Lenox locations and work closely with upper management and office leadership. Key Responsibilities Recruiting & Hiring Manage the recruiting process from job posting through hiring Communicate with candidates and conduct initial screening Schedule and coordinate interviews with management and doctors Maintain an organized candidate pipeline Assist management with hiring decisions and onboarding Develop and maintain relationships with qualified dental candidates Employee Training & Development Coordinate and facilitate new employee onboarding Help develop and implement employee training programs Ensure employees understand company policies, procedures, and expectations Follow up with employees and managers regarding training needs Help support ongoing professional development Employee Relations Serve as a primary HR contact for employee-related questions and concerns Assist management with employee issues, workplace concerns, and conflict resolution Conduct and coordinate employee and doctor performance reviews Document employee-related matters appropriately Promote a positive, respectful, and professional work environment HR Administration & Compliance Review and process vacation/PTO requests in accordance with company policy Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation Keep the employee handbook current and coordinate updates as needed Help ensure company policies and practices remain aligned with applicable federal and Illinois employment requirements Stay informed about changes to applicable employment laws and communicate relevant updates to management Assist with workplace policies, procedures, and HR-related documentation Additional Responsibilities Work closely with upper management on HR initiatives and special projects Assist with organizational and operational projects as requested Support the needs of all three dental locations Help identify opportunities to improve employee retention, communication, training, and workplace processes Qualifications Previous experience in Human Resources, Recruiting, Employee Relations, or a related field Strong recruiting and interviewing skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Highly organized with strong attention to detail Professional, approachable, and comfortable speaking with employees at all levels Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information professionally Strong problem-solving and people skills Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities across three locations Willingness and ability to travel between our Plainfield, Clarendon Hills, and New Lenox offices Dental or healthcare industry experience is a plus Experience with OpenDental and/or Dentrix Ascend is a plus Work Environment Full-time or part-time position On-site position — this is not a remote position Work across three dental office locations Regular interaction with dentists, dental team members, management, and job candidates Fast-paced but collaborative family-owned business environment Compensation Pay is based on experience, qualifications, and performance.
