HR Onboarding Specialist Boston Rehabilitation Center | Wareham, MA Full-Time | Mon-Fri, 8:30am-5pm
Salary:
$70k-$75k annually About the Role Boston Rehabilitation Center is seeking an organized, proactive, and highly detail-oriented HR Onboarding Specialist to support our growing team in Wareham, MA. This position will play a key role in creating a smooth transition from offer acceptance to an employee's first day. The HR Onboarding Specialist will coordinate pre-employment requirements, maintain accurate employee documentation, communicate directly with incoming employees, and ensure all onboarding and compliance requirements are completed within established timelines. We are looking for someone who is comfortable managing multiple new hires at once, follows through consistently, and understands the importance of both compliance and the candidate experience . What You'll Do Manage the onboarding process for new hires from offer acceptance through their start date. Serve as a primary point of contact for incoming employees throughout the onboarding process. Collect, review, and track required new-hire documentation. Coordinate pre-employment requirements, including background checks, drug screens, references, and other required clearances. Review and maintain I-9 documentation and employee records. Track professional licenses, certifications, credentials, and other compliance requirements as applicable. Follow up with new hires regarding missing or incomplete onboarding items. Maintain accurate and organized electronic personnel files and onboarding records. Coordinate with Recruiting, HR, department leaders, and other internal teams to ensure employees are cleared and prepared for their scheduled start dates. Assist with new-hire orientation and first-day coordination. Maintain onboarding checklists and provide regular updates regarding employee onboarding status. Identify potential delays or compliance concerns and communicate them promptly. Support additional HR administrative and employee-related functions as needed. What We're Looking For Previous experience in HR, employee onboarding, HR administration, or a similar role. Experience independently managing the onboarding process for multiple employees strongly preferred. Knowledge of I-9 requirements and general employment documentation. Experience with background checks, drug screening, credentialing, or other pre-employment requirements. Behavioral healthcare, healthcare, substance use treatment, or other regulated-industry experience strongly preferred. Excellent organization and attention to detail. Strong follow-up and time-management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Professional and effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle confidential employee information with discretion. Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with Recruiting, HR, and facility leadership.
