The Deputy Title IX Coordinator works with Title IX Coordinator to ensure institutional compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of the 1972 Civil Rights Act ("Title IX"), the Violence Against Women Act Reauthorization of 2022 ("VAWA"), the Campus Sexual Violence Elimination Act ("Campus SaVE"), and other related federal and state laws. The Deputy Title IX Coordinator serves as a neutral and impartial investigator who conducts and documents investigations concerning complaints of sexual harassment, sexual assault, stalking, and dating/domestic violence involving students and employees. The Deputy Title IX Coordinator also assists with alternative resolutions, ensuring the provision of supportive measures for those impacted, and the adjudication of complaints in the grievance process as necessary. The Deputy Title IX Coordinator will also collaborate with the Title IX coordinator for the development of policies, procedures, and practices. This role supports and provides compliance training and education sessions and programs, community engagement, and outreach. Successful candidates will possess strength in three areas: personal spiritual maturity and character, an ability to work with a variety of constituents in a fair and equitable manner, and the ability to communicate effectively across a variety of platforms. This position requires very strong writing skills. This is an on campus part time position. The person filling this role should expect approximately 1000 annual hours of work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION
Perform investigations, assessments, and alternative resolutions of sexual misconduct, harassment, and discrimination investigations involving faculty, staff, and students, including writing reports. Assist with the preparation and delivery of preventive education programs and outreach. Assist with providing training for all employees and students on matters relating to preventing, reporting, and addressing discrimination and sexual misconduct. Work collaboratively and effectively with other University departments, especially including, the Office of General Counsel, the Office of Human Resources, and the Office of Student Life. Effectively manage the day-to-day responsibilities of the duties of the Title IX Coordinator in the absence of the Title IX Coordinator. Assist with the implementation of the University's sexual and interpersonal violence prevention plan. Perform other job-related duties as deemed necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in social work, criminal justice, advocacy, student affairs, or a related field is required, Master's degree preferred. 1-3 years of experience in Higher Education, particularly in a student conduct, Title IX, or civil rights/equal opportunity role required. Experience conducting internal Title IX and/or civil rights investigations or employment law and/or HR experience preferred. Knowledge and experience with gender/sexual violence issues and effects of sexual assault on higher education populations Demonstrated ability to analyze, understand, and resolve complex and sensitive issues objectively. Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, and work on multiple complex projects simultaneously. Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and student populations. Ability to maintain the confidentiality required and to handle sensitive information professionally. Ability to handle a workload that can be unpredictable and reflective of an academic calendar cycle. Demonstrated judgment, problem-solving, as well as critical thinking and analysis. Ability to work independently, and as part of a team.
REQUIRED MENTAL/PHYSICAL ABILITIES
Must be able to communicate with people in person and through modern technological means. Must be able to facilitate conflict resolution, using written and verbal communications. Must be able to access various buildings on campus. Copying, typing, keyboarding, hearing, speaking, and listening skills are required. Must be able to represent the University at various conferences and meetings as required. Independent travel, both by automobile and airplane, may be required on occasion. We Offer an
