Job Description

At GD Roberts & Co., Inc., we're looking for a Payroll & HR Specialist who is organized, dependable, detail-driven, and ready to take ownership of an important role supporting our employees and operations. This isn't a position where you'll simply push paperwork around. You will serve as a critical anchor for GDR by ensuring biweekly payroll runs flawlessly while keeping GDR core HR administrative workflows organized and compliant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This list of duties is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as business environment, company needs and management deem necessary. Payroll Administration & Reporting Process biweekly payroll accurately, ensuring all deadlines are consistently met. Review and verify employee timecards, auditing regular hours, overtime, PTO, holiday, and bereavement time. Reconcile payroll data following each processing period, verifying employer costs and resolving discrepancies between payroll records and benefit invoices. Coordinate with Paylocity to resolve system inquiries, updates, or corrections. Assist with year-end processing, including W-2 preparation and payroll-related audits. Timekeeping & Attendance & Labor Reporting Monitor employee timekeeping records daily, correcting missed punches by collaborating directly with supervisors. Maintain the company attendance points system in accordance with internal policies. HR Administration & Employee Support Maintain active personnel files (both digital and paper) with strict confidentiality. Manage employee documentation, from updating compensation and job information to processing terminations and preparing final paychecks. Support general HR projects, data requests, and administrative tasks as needed. Required Qualifications Associate's Degree Required or 5-7 years proven payroll/human resource experience. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on intermediate to advanced Excel skills. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with extreme discretion. Uncompromising data accuracy and sharp attention to detail. Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to independently prioritize multiple deadlines. Clear professional written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications Previous professional experience in payroll processing, human resources, accounting, or corporate administration. Familiarity with Paylocity or similar enterprise HRIS/payroll platforms.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands. The employee is frequently required to talk or listen. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, or bend. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
