HR Generalist - Bilingual (Stevens Point Area)
Job Summary:
This role supports day-to-day human resources operations and serves as a key point of contact for employees and management. The HR Generalist plays a vital role in fostering a positive workplace culture while ensuring HR processes run efficiently and effectively, and also coordinates full-cycle recruitment efforts, with bilingual communication (English/Spanish) essential to effectively support both the workforce and area-based hiring efforts.
Essential Job Functions:
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions: Performs routine HR administration across compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, performance management, occupational safety, and training and development. Visits client account sites as needed to support onsite HR needs, connect with employees, perform stay interviews and address employee relations matters in person. Handles employment-related inquiries and advises management on employee relations issues, escalating complex or sensitive matters as needed. Leads employment-related investigations and responds to inquiries from regulatory bodies (e.g., UI, OSHA, DOL). Trains management on interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, safety, and sexual harassment prevention. Maintains knowledge of employment laws and government reporting regulations, ensuring HR policies, procedures, and reporting remain compliant. Plans new employee orientation and administers benefits enrollment. Administers the performance review program and maintains accurate employee records in HRIS. Investigates workplace accidents and prepares related reports for the insurance carrier, safety manager, and HR Director. Supports wage survey reviews with leadership to help ensure competitive, equitable pay practices. - Prepares separation documentation and conducts exit interviews. -Tracks compliance with required and optional training, certifications, and licensure.
Coordinates full-cycle recruitment:
job postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer coordination. Collaborates with Account Managers to draft accurate job postings, skills requirements, and hiring criteria. Schedules interviews and prepares interview questions and hiring materials. Recommends, start dates, and offer details in partnership with hiring managers. Attends job fairs and recruiting events to build talent pipelines. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including bilingual communication of policies where needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish (required). Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and to delegate tasks when appropriate. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality, and to exercise sound judgment. Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations, including those applicable to hiring and recruitment. Proficient with, or the ability to quickly learn, applicant-tracking software, HRIS, and talent management systems. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent education and experience.
