Membership and Recruitment Specialist Role- Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore Transform Potential into Purpose At Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore, we don't just offer jobs—we create pathways for the next generation of leaders to find their voice, build confidence, and change the world. Every girl who joins a troop and every adult who steps up to lead needs a champion behind the scenes to guide their way. As a Membership and Recruitment Specialist, you are that vital bridge. You are the first welcoming touchpoint for families and future troop leaders embarking on their Girl Scout journey. By combining administrative excellence with authentic relationship-building, you will directly drive membership growth—expanding our reach across Monmouth and Ocean counties, inspiring adults to step into impactful leadership roles, and ensuring every girl finds a home where she belongs. Key Responsibilities Membership Growth & Community Impact Fuel the
Movement:
Convert incoming leads into active, registered girl and adult members, directly expanding our council's reach and impact.
Inspire Adult Leadership:
Engage, encourage, and onboard volunteer troop leaders—empowering everyday adults to step up as mentor figures for local youth.
Drive Strategic Outreach:
Execute growth strategies aligned with our strategic plan through timely, persuasive phone calls, emails, and personalized follow-ups.
Cultivate Belonging:
Embody the Girl Scout values of equity, diversity, and inclusion to ensure families from all backgrounds feel welcomed and supported from day one.
Administrative & Operational Excellence CRM & Pipeline Mastery:
Leverage Salesforce to track, manage, and finalize prospective member leads with accuracy and speed. High-quality data hygiene and prompt execution are critical to maintaining momentum.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner closely with Regional Engagement Managers and Membership Teams to align on placement targets, retention goals, and recruitment campaigns.
Operational Reporting:
Prepare regular status reports and action plans to track progress toward seasonal placement and enrollment milestones.
Cross-Departmental Support:
Assist in hosting staff and volunteer training events, sharing best practices, and supporting broader community recruitment initiatives throughout the year.
Customer Care Back-Up & Support:
Serve as key operational support to the Customer Care team by handling incoming phone calls, council chats, and inquiries; delivering top-tier service, processing memberships/financial assistance, managing case queues, and keeping cross-departmental troop statuses updated.
What You Bring Experience:
Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of success in sales, recruitment, community organizing, or account management.
Tech-Savvy Precision:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with demonstrated ability to navigate and maximize Salesforce (or similar CRM software).
Communication Skills:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal presence. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are highly preferred.
Leadership & Organizational Drive:
Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of prioritizing tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines.
Problem-Solving Mindset:
Proactive approach to identifying placement friction points and implementing practical, efficient solutions.
Mission Commitment:
Must be (or become) a registered member of Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore, with flexibility to work occasional nights and weekends to support community recruitment events.
Location, Work Schedule & Compensation Primary Work Locations:
Schedule primarily in our Farmingdale Service Center with minimal time in Toms River Service Center to ensure visible leadership and collaboration across both Monmouth and Ocean counties.
Hybrid Work Schedule:
4 days per week in-office with 1 day remote. Remote eligibility becomes available following 90 days of successful employment.
Compensation:
Annual salary range of $45,000 - $50,000 (Full-time exempt) accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package. Company Overview Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore is the region's premier leadership development organization for youth, serving nearly 12,000 girls and adult volunteers across Monmouth and Ocean counties. Supported by regional service centers and expansive outdoor camp facilities in Farmingdale, Toms River, and Waretown , our council creates an inclusive, supportive environment where girls from kindergarten through 12th grade discover their strengths, embrace new challenges, and shape their own futures.

$45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
