Job Description

About this Position The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) is committed to building strong, holistic engagement with students from their first interest in CAS to their return as successful alumni. This position is primarily responsible for the marketing and recruitment of prospective undergraduate student populations, including providing academic guidance to incoming students and their families, developing strategies to promote CAS to prospective students, maintaining and reviewing data to contribute to overall recruitment strategies, and presenting and communicating CAS with on and off-campus stakeholders. Duties include organizing and attending recruitment events, as well as acting as an advisor to the CAS Ambassador student organization. Supervised by the Director of Recruitment, Scholarships, and Alumni Relations, this position will coordinate duties that promote CAS to outward-facing populations. This includes engaging on and off-campus partners, utilizing OSU systems for data management, and contributing to strategies that increase awareness of CAS to prospective students, current students, scholarship applicants, and alumni, as well as supporting CAS with the setup and on-site preparation of college-level events, and other duties as assigned. This position will typically work 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. However, on occasion, the need may arise for work to be performed in the evening and/or over the weekend. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field and one year of related experience, such as Communications, Public Relations, Advertising, Marketing, Higher Education, or Human Resources. (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date) Demonstrated experience in communications, including, but not limited to social media, video, web, writing, editing content creation, higher education recruiting, sales, marketing, communications or public relations or a closely related field. Knowledge:
The successful applicant will possess strong written and verbal communication skills, professionalism in appearance and actions, positive attitude and comfort with public speaking and presenting, ability to learn sizeable amounts of accurate academic major and scholarship information, handle sensitive information, effectively manage data, ability to produce marketing materials, handle all relevant university software required, ability to work autonomously as well as in team settings. Preferred Qualifications Master's Master's degree in a related field. Two years experience working in higher education or related industry in areas such as admissions, marketing, or public relations. Demonstrates ability to work effectively with students, alumni, staff, and faculty.
