We take pride in being an urban campus with a small town feel. SUNY Schenectady County Community College is seeking applications for the Director of Workforce Development Mobile Training Labs. Reporting to the Vice President of Workforce Development and Community Education (WFD&CE), the Director of Workforce Development Mobile Training Labs provides leadership and operational oversight for the College's mobile manufacturing and healthcare training labs. The Director is responsible for coordinating and supporting the development and delivery of hands-on demonstrations, workshops, and technical training throughout the Capital Region, in collaboration with SUNY partner institutions, the regional BOCES system, employers, and other community and industry partners. The Director coordinates training schedules and delivery; develops and maintains employer and education-sector partnerships; supports curriculum development, implementation, and continuous improvement; coordinates program logistics and site requirements; and ensures that the mobile training labs are maintained in a safe, functional, and deployment-ready condition. The Director serves as a primary liaison among internal College stakeholders, industry partners, SUNY institutions, BOCES, and other regional organizations to facilitate effective use of the mobile labs and alignment of training activities with current workforce and industry needs. The Director also monitors program activities, identifies operational needs, and communicates recommendations and issues to the Vice President of WFD&CE.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate the planning, scheduling, and delivery of Mobile Training Lab programming across regional partner sites. Develop and sustain relationships with employers, educational institutions, BOCES programs, workforce organizations, and community partners to ensure programming reflects current and emerging workforce needs. Collaborate with faculty, industry subject-matter experts, and educational partners on curriculum development, instructional design, and implementation. Support the development of experiential and career-connected learning opportunities that demonstrate the application of academic and technical knowledge in authentic workplace settings. Manage operational logistics, including equipment, site coordination, scheduling, inventory, maintenance coordination and program readiness. Coordinate the transportation, deployment, and operational readiness of Mobile Training Labs, including scheduling and coordination with CDL drivers, transportation vendors, and partner sites. Ensure that the Mobile Training Labs remain fully operational, current, and responsive to industry and educational partner needs. Identify opportunities to expand the reach and impact of Mobile Training Lab programming through strategic partnerships and regional collaboration. Additional programmatic/financial/administrative duties as assigned In Collaboration with BOCES partners: Support the Emerging Technology Lab at Capital Region BOCES through two days of teaching per week during the academic school year. Coordinate use and scheduling of Mobile Training Labs for use by BOCES during the academic school year. Support technical demonstrations and hands-on workshops such as CAD SolidWorks, Robotics fundamentals, 3D printing and technology focused workshops/demonstrations. Assist with VR career exploration and recruitment activities. Assist with equipment utilization, maintenance coordination, safety protocols, and operational readiness.

Requirements:
Job Requirements:

Knowledge of manufacturing, engineering technology, healthcare training, or other workforce development technologies. Demonstrated project management and organizational skills, including the ability to coordinate multiple initiatives, schedules, resources, operational logistics, equipment deployment, transportation, and stakeholder relationships simultaneously. Ability to analyze program needs, identify challenges, and develop practical solutions to support program effectiveness and continuous improvement. Ability to work independently while maintaining effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Effective verbal, written, presentation, and facilitation skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other technology platforms used for scheduling, program management, reporting, and communication.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Workforce Development, Education, Business Administration, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Healthcare Education, Public Administration, or closely related field. Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible professional experience in workforce development, education, training program administration, technical education, or related fields. Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining partnerships with employers, educational institutions, government agencies, and community organizations. Experience providing instruction, training, facilitation, or technical demonstrations. Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the service region.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Education, Workforce Development, Public Administration, Business Administration, Engineering Technology, or related field. Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible experience in workforce development, education, training program administration, technical education, or related fields. Experience supporting manufacturing technologies, robotics, CAD/SolidWorks, additive manufacturing (3D printing), automation, healthcare training, or emerging technologies. Experience in higher education, community colleges, BOCES, or workforce training organizations.
