Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Professional Development & Intern Coordinator (PDIC) to join our organization's crisis services and learning & development team. This role is instrumental in recruiting, training, and supervising intern counselors while also designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive professional development programs that foster staff growth, enhance organizational capabilities, and support talent management initiatives. The ideal candidate brings both direct clinical/crisis-work experience and a strong background in instructional design, adult education, and program management, with a passion for developing engaging learning experiences that align with strategic goals and support staff well-being. This is a paid position offering the opportunity to shape both frontline crisis-response capacity and organization-wide workforce development. The PDIC is a member of the program's leadership team and reports to the program director. Duties & Responsibilities Intern & Staff Supervision Recruit, train, onboard, and supervise BA- and/or MA-level intern counselors, including direct observation, group and individual supervision, and in-person and written evaluation and feedback. Coordinate onboarding and orientation sessions to facilitate smooth integration of new hires and interns. Engage in direct service during times of short-staffing and/or high client demand. Training & Professional Development Program Management Manage the full lifecycle of training programs from needs assessment through evaluation, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Track completed trainings and competency assessments; identify and coordinate new training opportunities in collaboration with leadership and relevant partners/stakeholders. Elicit and respond to staff feedback regarding professional development and training needs, continuously improving program quality. Lead curriculum development for professional growth initiatives, including succession planning and performance-related programs. Utilize learning technology and HR systems (e.g., LMS, HRIS, and related platforms) for tracking training progress and data collection. Facilitate classroom and virtual training sessions, applying strong public speaking and presentation skills. Support change management initiatives by designing communication strategies and training materials that promote organizational adaptability. Oversee project management activities related to program design, content development, and implementation timelines. Staff Wellness Design and implement staff wellness and self-care initiatives in collaboration with program leadership. Qualifications Experience & Education At least 2 years of direct practice experience in social work, counseling, crisis response, or a related field. Experience in crisis work and/or suicide prevention required. Master's degree (MSW, MA in Counseling, or similar) required; independent licensure preferred. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education/Instructional Technology, Organizational Development, or a related field, plus relevant training/instructional design certifications, will also be considered depending on background. Proven experience developing and managing employee/staff training programs.
Pay:
$35.00 - $35.62 per hour
