In this role, you will design, develop, and deliver comprehensive training solutions tailored to enhance the knowledge, skills, and performance of our underwriting professionals. Your expertise in curriculum development, adult education, and learning technology will empower our team to excel in a fast-paced insurance environment. As an Underwriting Trainer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping talent management initiatives, supporting employee orientation, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Your passion for instructional design and program management will drive the success of our training initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices. Responsibilities Develop engaging and effective training programs for underwriting staff using instructional design principles, including ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Create comprehensive e-learning courses and instructional content utilizing platforms such as LMS (Learning Management System), Adobe Captivate, and other learning technology tools. Lead curriculum development efforts focused on underwriting processes, risk assessment techniques, and compliance standards. Deliver training sessions through various methods including classroom instruction, virtual sessions, and e-learning platforms to accommodate diverse adult learners. Conduct employee orientation programs to onboard new underwriting team members efficiently. Collaborate with HR and talent management teams to support succession planning and performance management initiatives through targeted training interventions. Utilize data collection and research to evaluate training effectiveness; adjust programs based on feedback and performance metrics. Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality in content development and program delivery. Mentor junior trainers and team members to foster a collaborative learning environment focused on continuous improvement. Experience Proven experience in corporate training or professional development within the insurance or financial services industry. Extensive background in instructional design, adult education theories, and curriculum development using ADDIE or similar models. Demonstrated success in developing employee training programs related to underwriting processes or risk management. Strong proficiency with LMS platforms, e-learning content creation tools such as Adobe Captivate, Microsoft Office Suite, Workday or Workday-like HR systems, and enterprise learning management systems. Skilled in program management, project coordination, change management strategies, and delivering engaging public speaking or presentation sessions. Knowledge of talent management practices including succession planning, employee evaluation techniques, and performance management systems. Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear instructional content for adult learners. Ability to lead teams effectively while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
