The Boys & Girls Club of Stamford is seeking a passionate and dynamic after-school youth development specialist to create an engaging and innovative learning environment for children and youth in our after-school programs. The ideal candidate will have experience in incorporating modern technology, hands-on learning, and project-based instruction into the classroom to foster critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity. This role requires a teacher who is committed to developing students' academic skills, social-emotional growth, and preparing them for success in the 21st century.

Key Responsibilities:

Implement creative and engaging lesson plans that integrate technology, project-based learning, and hands-on activities across multiple subjects, including STEM, arts, literacy, and social studies. Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that promotes collaboration, curiosity, and a growth mindset. Incorporate a variety of teaching strategies and tools that meet the diverse learning styles, needs, and abilities of students. Use technology to enhance learning, providing students with exposure to digital tools and platforms that support academic and personal development. Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback to students and families on academic performance, behavior, and personal growth. Collaborate with fellow teachers, program staff, and leaders to ensure a seamless and effective learning experience across all programs. Establish and maintain a safe, supportive, and structured environment that aligns with Boys & Girls Club values and policies. Support students' social-emotional development by incorporating SEL (social-emotional learning) into everyday classroom practices. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and behavior. Promote and support the mission and values of the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 years of classroom experience, preferably in an after-school or youth development setting. Experience working with diverse student populations and an ability to adapt lessons for various learning styles and abilities. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families. Enthusiasm for working in a dynamic, youth-focused environment and a commitment to the mission of the Boys & Girls Club. Background check required.

Working Conditions:

Position is part-time after school, based on program needs, with some evenings required for events and family engagement. Work is primarily performed in a classroom setting within the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford facilities. Hours 15-20 hours a week .
