Overview:
The U.S. Army Reserve (USAR) is implementing the Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) System to improve Soldier readiness, resilience, and deployability. SRI is seeking a Cognitive Performance Specialist to serve as a member of an interdisciplinary H2F Performance Team supporting Army Reserve Soldiers and leaders. The CPS will develop and deliver mental-readiness and performance-psychology programs designed to improve Soldier performance under pressure, resilience, attention control, stress management, and other cognitive-performance skills. The position also provides field-based coaching and mentorship to H2F Integration Teams and Master Resilience Trainers.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Design and implement a comprehensive mental-readiness training program based on performance-psychology principles. Develop practical mental-skills resources, including tip sheets, guided exercises, leader discussion guides, and other educational materials. Develop and deliver mental-readiness curriculum during H2F onboarding. Develop a command-specific cognitive-performance strategy. Train Soldiers in evidence-based cognitive skills to enhance performance under pressure. Provide instruction addressing attention control, goal setting, energy management, stress-inoculation techniques, deliberate breathing, mindfulness, visualization, and effective self-talk. Conduct classroom instruction and field-based coaching. Integrate cognitive-performance skills into applicable military training activities, including marksmanship, field exercises, and leadership reaction courses. Coach and mentor H2F Integration Teams and Master Resilience Trainers. Provide reach-back support, advanced skills training, and subject-matter expertise to strengthen unit-level capabilities. Collaborate with other HPT members to integrate mental readiness with physical, nutritional, sleep, and other H2F programming. Participate in HPT meetings, planning sessions, working groups, and synchronization activities with Government personnel and unit leadership. Contribute domain-specific information to reports, implementation strategies, After-Action Reviews, curriculum, resource libraries, and other H2F deliverables. Conduct recurring knowledge transfer and train Government-designated personnel on developed strategies and materials. Travel routinely to supported Army Reserve locations and training events as required.
Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in Psychology; or Master's degree in Kinesiology or a related field with a specialized focus in sport or performance psychology from an accredited university. Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) certification from the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP) is preferred. Minimum of three years of relevant post-graduation experience within the last four years providing mental-skills training and cognitive-performance enhancement services to athletes, military personnel, or other high-performing populations. Where professional licensure is required for the position, must have and maintain a current, valid, unrestricted license with no limitations, stipulations, or pending adverse actions. Must maintain applicable credentials and meet DHA credentialing requirements throughout employment. Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule supporting Army Reserve training events, including evenings and weekends when required. Must be willing and able to travel regularly within CONUS.

personnel security clearance and required installation, CAC, NIPRNet, and system access eligibility.
