Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and energetic Youth Development Professional to inspire and empower young minds through engaging educational and recreational activities. In this vital role, you will create a safe, nurturing environment where children and youth can thrive, develop essential life skills, and build confidence. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help foster positive growth, encourage teamwork, and promote healthy development in a variety of settings including classrooms, camps, daycare centers, and community programs. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young lives while gaining valuable experience in youth engagement and education. Responsibilities Plan, organize, and lead age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, social skills, and emotional well-being. Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and behavior management techniques. Ensure the safety of all participants by adhering to health guidelines, conducting first aid when necessary, and maintaining a secure environment. Collaborate with educators, parents, and caregivers to support children's individual needs, including those requiring special education or additional behavioral support. Facilitate sports coaching, arts and theater projects, tutoring sessions, or other recreational programs that foster creativity and physical activity. Maintain detailed records of attendance, progress notes, incident reports, and activity evaluations. Support children's early childhood education by implementing curriculum plans aligned with developmental milestones. Qualifications Prior experience working with children or youth in educational, childcare, camp, or recreational settings. Knowledge of classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques. Certification in first aid and CPR; additional certifications in special education or childhood development are a plus. Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members. Ability to adapt activities for diverse learning needs including those requiring accommodations for special education. Enthusiasm for working with children of all ages in dynamic environments such as daycare centers or summer camps. Experience in coaching sports or leading theater productions is desirable but not required.
