Position Purpose The Trainer is responsible for redeveloping, coordinating, and delivering the HVAC Service and HVAC Installation Apprenticeship Programs. This role provides classroom, hands-on, and field-based learning that helps apprentices build technical capability, safety awareness, professionalism, customer service skills, and confidence. The Trainer serves as a consistent coach throughout the apprenticeship experience and partners with field leaders and technician mentors to align training with operational needs. This position is accountable for apprentice engagement, development, program execution, and maintaining a minimum 70% retention rate for apprenticeship graduates. Essential Responsibilities Deliver classroom and hands-on training for HVAC Service and Installation apprentices. Develop and maintain training materials, lesson plans, and learning pathways. Continuously improve program content based on apprentice and field leader feedback. Ensure training aligns with safety standards, operational needs, and customer service expectations. Conduct regular ride-alongs and field coaching sessions with apprentices. Provide feedback on technical skills, safety, professionalism, and customer interactions. Conduct monthly one-on-one meetings and create development plans as needed. Monitor apprentice engagement, performance, and retention throughout the program. Coordinate apprenticeship schedules, training logistics, and field training activities. Maintain apprentice records, coaching documentation, and program data. Track program KPIs and provide regular updates on apprentice progress and retention. Communicate program expectations and updates to apprentices and stakeholders. Collaborate with Operations, Talent Acquisition, HR, Safety, and field leaders to support apprentice success. Support apprentice recruiting, onboarding, and workforce development initiatives. Promote a consistent apprenticeship experience across locations. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required High school diploma or
GED. HVAC
Service and/or Installation experience. Experience training, coaching, mentoring, or developing others. Ability to facilitate learning in classroom, field, and hands-on environments. Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly. Preferred Trade school certification, associate degree, or equivalent HVAC technical education. 10+ years of HVAC Service and/or Installation experience. Experience with apprenticeship programs, curriculum development, or technical training. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and learning management systems. Core Competencies HVAC technical expertise and troubleshooting knowledge. Coaching, facilitation, and adult learning skills. Strong communication and relationship-building abilities. Organization, problem-solving, and continuous improvement mindset. Professionalism, accountability, and ability to influence without direct authority. Physical Requirements Regular travel to training facilities, branch locations, and job sites. Frequent ride-alongs in HVAC Service and Installation environments. Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift training materials, and work in indoor and outdoor environments. Flexibility to support apprenticeship schedules and field training needs. Pay:
$60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
