Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Facilities Training Facilitator is a senior-level facilities professional and learning leader. This person designs and facilitates high-quality FOT training across electrical, mechanical, controls, safety, procedures, rounds, alarms, PM/OEM work, and emergency response. They coach technicians in the field, align learning to approved procedures, and provide objective evidence to support qualification-card decisions.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Build, adapt, and maintain instructor-led, hands-on, and scenario-based learning using approved site content, OEM materials, MOPs/SOPs/EOPs, LOTO requirements, and lessons learned.
  • Facilitate foundational and role-based FOT training that teaches normal versus abnormal conditions, system interactions, alarms, rounds, turnover, escalation, and operational decision-making.
  • Lead safe system walk-downs, demonstrations, practical exercises, and supervised performance; evaluate technician readiness against defined qualification-card criteria.
  • Coordinate PM/OEM training with service providers and manufacturers, including train-the-trainer opportunities, equipment-specific instruction, and post-training reinforcement.
  • Coach technicians, shift leads, and developing instructors; create an environment where questions, correct escalation, and disciplined procedure use are expected.
  • Use incident reviews, near misses, trends, and repeat defects to update training priorities and lead focused refresher learning.
  • Partner with Operations, Safety, Services, and program leadership to ensure training content is technically accurate, current, safe, and aligned with controlled procedures.
  • Provide leaders with clear assessment feedback, qualification recommendations, remediation plans, and evidence of demonstrated competence; do not bypass formal authorization governance. Skills and Requirements
  • 8+ years in critical facilities, data center, industrial power, or comparable high-availability operations and maintenance; direct FOT or mission-critical facilities experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in critical electrical and mechanical systems, controls/BMS, alarms, PM execution, safe work practices, LOTO, and operating procedures.
  • 3+ years facilitating technical training, developing job aids or curriculum, mentoring technicians, or leading structured on-the-job learning.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation, coaching, and leadership skills; able to explain complex systems clearly and lead calmly in a high-accountability environment.
Preferred:
OEM credentials or train-the-trainer experience; experience creating qualification cards or practical assessments; instructor certifications; and direct experience supporting
MOP/SOP/EOP
governance in a hyperscale or other high-availability environment.
