General Description The Youth Development Professional (After-School Program) plays a key role in creating a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for Club members during the after-school hours. This position will serve at one of our two sites—Centralia or Chehalis—and may shift during the year or provide substitute coverage at another site based on program needs. YDPs will use Boys & Girls Club National Programs to plan and lead fun, age-appropriate activities that foster learning, social-emotional growth, leadership skills, healthy choices, and future-ready initiatives. Staff will maintain active supervision at all times and ensure a staff-to-youth ratio of at most 1:20. Key Responsibilities Plan, implement, and lead engaging activities in areas such as academic enrichment, STEM, art, healthy lifestyles, and leadership development. Maintain active supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of all members. Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages respect, teamwork, and personal growth. Model the Club's mission, values, and safety standards. Support smooth daily transitions between program activities. Adapt to changes. Maintain cleanliness and organization of program areas. Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of the program and organization. Professional Development Participate in Boys & Girls Clubs of Lewis County training opportunities. Engage in youth development best practices, safety training, and skill-building activities. Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning and improvement. Qualifications Must be 18 years or older. High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience working with youth preferred. Ability to lead engaging activities and manage groups effectively. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Commitment to the mission, values, and safety standards of the Boys & Girls Club. CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
Compensation & Benefits Pay:
Washington State minimum wage.
Part-Time:
WA Paid Sick Leave; additional benefits as outlined in the Boys & Girls Club of Lewis County Employee Handbook. Seasonal full-time opportunities may be available during school breaks or summer.
