Temporary Holiday Pet Sitter / Dog Walker Primal Paws | Seasonal Independent Contractor (1099)

Tentative Contract Period:

November 22 - January 3 Primal Paws is looking for a dependable, experienced animal lover to join our team as a Temporary Holiday Pet Sitter & Dog Walker during our busiest season of the year. This is a temporary independent contractor opportunity focused primarily on pet sitting, with some dog walking assignments as needed. We are looking for someone with full, open availability throughout the holiday season who is comfortable working independently and providing professional, reliable care in our clients' homes. Availability Because this is an independent contractor position, contractors maintain control over their availability and may accept or decline offered assignments. However, full, open availability from November 22 through January 3 is strongly preferred. The amount of work offered will depend heavily on availability and client demand. Contractors with consistent open availability should expect to receive priority for available assignments, while those with limited availability may receive few or no service opportunities. Availability on the following holidays is expected for this seasonal opportunity: Thanksgiving Day Christmas Eve Christmas Day New Year's Eve New Year's Day Applicants should carefully consider their holiday plans before applying. What the Work Looks Like The majority of assignments will involve pet sitting in clients' homes, with additional dog walking assignments depending on demand.

Pet sitting assignments may include:

Daily-Visit Pet Sitting:

Some clients require at least four separate visits to their home per day, spread throughout the day. Contractors must be able to reliably travel between clients' homes and complete every assigned visit.

Overnight Pet Sitting:

Overnight assignments require the contractor to stay overnight in the client's home while caring for their pets. These assignments may span multiple consecutive nights. Services may involve feeding, refreshing water, administering routine pet care, walking dogs, providing bathroom breaks, cleaning up after pets, playtime and companionship, following detailed care instructions, and providing clients with professional updates.

Requirements Applicants must:

Have previous experience working with or caring for animals Have reliable personal transportation Own a reliable smartphone Be comfortable traveling to multiple clients' homes throughout the day Be comfortable entering and working independently inside clients' homes Be comfortable staying overnight in clients' homes Be comfortable working with dogs, cats, and occasionally exotic pets of different breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments Be dependable, punctual, organized, and able to follow detailed instructions Communicate professionally with both management and our clients Be available to work during the major holidays listed above Be able to pass any applicable background screening requirements Compensation Commission-based, depending on experience, plus 100% of client tips. This is an independent contractor opportunity. The number and type of services offered will vary based on client demand, geographic coverage, contractor availability, and suitability for individual assignments. No specific number of services, hours, or earnings is guaranteed.
