Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Care Assistant to join our med staff team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal welfare and a strong understanding of animal care practices in a shelter environment. This role requires a love for animals, strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle various tasks related to animal care and facility maintenance. Responsibilities Assist in the daily care of shelter animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising. Maintain cleanliness and organization in animal enclosures and common areas. Monitor the health and behavior of shelter animals. Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations or treatments. Administer daily medications, vaccinations and other treatments as appropriate. Maintain accurate records of animal care activities and observations. Skills Familiarity with animal handling techniques. Previous experience in a kennel, vet clinic or shelter environment is preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols accurately. Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members. A genuine passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing excellent care.
