Experienced Horse Groom / Stable Hand•$22•25 per
Hour Location:
San Benito County, CA Pay:
$22•25 per hour, depending on experience
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM, spring & summer hours; 7:00 AM-3:30 PM, fall & winter hours Occasional weekends and later days are required.

Full-Time, Long-Term Position About the Position We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and hardworking Horse Groom / Stable Hand to join our team in San Benito County. This is a long-term position for the right individual . We are looking for someone with substantial professional experience caring for horses and working in an equestrian facility. The successful candidate will be someone who takes pride in their work, treats horses with care and respect, and can consistently perform daily barn duties efficiently without constant supervision.
Important:
Professional Experience Required This position requires at least 5 years of professional experience working with horses at an equestrian facility .
Qualifications Applicants must:
Have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience caring for horses at an equestrian facility . Have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience cleaning horse stalls . Have substantial experience grooming and handling horses safely and confidently. Be dependable and consistently report to work on time. Reliability and punctuality are nonnegotiable. Have reliable transportation. Be self-motivated and able to work independently without constant supervision. Be comfortable performing physically demanding barn work every day. Be able to regularly lift and move 50-lb. bags of grain, hay, and bedding . Be willing to work occasional weekends and later days when required. Provide professional equestrian employment references . Job Responsibilities The position involves the daily care of approximately 12 horses , including: Thoroughly cleaning horse stalls. Removing all manure and wet bedding. Dumping wheelbarrows and maintaining clean work areas. Re-bedding stalls as needed. Maintaining clean, dry, and comfortable stalls for all horses. Lifting and moving hay, shavings, and 50-lb. sacks of grain. Maintaining clean and organized barn aisles and work areas. Grooming horses daily in a thorough, safe, kind, and efficient manner. Walking horses to their pastures each morning. Bringing horses back from pasture each afternoon. Cleaning tack and keeping it in good condition. Following established ranch procedures and daily routines. Working efficiently and independently while maintaining a professional and respectful attitude.
The ideal candidate:
Has extensive professional horse-care experience. Is comfortable handling multiple horses every day. Understands proper grooming, feeding, turnout, and stall-cleaning procedures. Takes pride in maintaining a clean and organized barn. Works efficiently without needing constant direction. Is dependable and takes their work responsibilities seriously. Treats horses with patience, kindness, and respect. Is looking for a stable, long-term position rather than temporary or seasonal work. Physical Requirements This is a physically demanding position. The employee must be able to: Lift and carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly. Push and dump loaded wheelbarrows. Shovel manure and wet bedding. Move hay, shavings, feed, and other barn supplies. Spend extended periods standing and walking. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
