Job Description

Please note that applications MUST be submitted via the Dog Days of Summit website to be considered. www.dogdaysofsummit.com/employment Dog Days of Summit is looking to hire some of the best damned pet sitters & dog walkers this side of the Mississippi! While the specific tasks may change from day to day, the core of this position involves providing excellent customer service , keeping all of the pets in your care safe, happy, and secure , the ability to work independently , and adapting to on-the-fly changes in routine. This role is considered part-time and we cannot guarantee a set number of weekly hours, as our business is based on client demand. A typical day may look like dropping in to 2-3 clients' homes between 7
  • 9 AM while they are on vacation to give potty walks and feed their pets breakfast, giving a few dogs their midday break from the couch while their owners are at work between 11A
  • 3P, or doing late-night visits for last chance potty walks and bedtime biscuits between 9
  • 11 PM for clients who are down at a Red Rocks show.
Why you'd love it here: Dog Days of Summit offers a positive work environment where it's highly encouraged to sing to, run with, and completely spoil all of our favorite fur friends. You'll get to play with some of the best dogs & cats in the county each day. In-depth training will be provided on animal body language, leash handling skills, common illnesses and basic first aid, etc. Flexible, respectful scheduling: we avoid split shifts and you'll never get a text from us at midnight asking if you can walk a dog at 7 AM. Referral bonuses for expanding the DDOS pack by bringing on excellent clients or employees. Why you might not love it here: Pets can be gross. :) You'll deal with poop every single day, get absolutely slobbered on when dogs give welcome kisses, and will occasionally deal with puke when tummies are upset or blood if a toenail is broken during zoomies. We're outside a lot in all the weather that Colorado has to offer. We walk rain, snow, or shine! Toe warmers and extra layers will be your friend in the winter months. It can be exhausting. We walk, on average, 1-2 miles per visit. You can't use ChatGPT, Claude, etc. to write your report cards. You gotta use your own two thumbs and your own big brain. <3 Dog Days of Summit was started in 2023 and has been in Summit's Top 5 "Best Of" Pet Sitters every year since. We're here to build relationships with our clients, thoroughly spoil their pets, and enrich the trail & canine communities of Summit County. We give back to Summit by sponsoring trail cleanup days with Friends of the Dillon Ranger District and giving a small donation to the Summit County Animal Shelter each year.
