In this energetic role, you will provide professional grooming services that enhance each dog's comfort and appearance, ensuring a positive experience for both pets and their owners. Your expertise in pet coat styling, animal handling, and customer communication will help build lasting relationships with clients while showcasing your love for animals. This paid position offers a dynamic environment where every day is an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our furry friends. Days we are open and need groomers are Wednesday-Saturdays 8am -2pm. Responsibilities Perform pet grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling according to breed standards and owner preferences Handle dogs safely and confidently using animal restraint techniques to ensure comfort and security during grooming procedures Maintain cleanliness of grooming tools, work areas, and equipment to promote hygiene and safety standards Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming requests, provide pet care advice, and discuss any health concerns observed during grooming Assist with pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, and other pet coat styling needs to keep animals comfortable and well-maintained Support kennel or pet sitting duties as needed, ensuring animals are properly cared for during their stay Heavy lifting of pets or equipment may be required; maintain proper lifting techniques to prevent injury Qualifications Proven experience in pet grooming with a strong understanding of animal handling and restraint techniques Knowledge of dog training principles and veterinary experience is highly desirable Background in veterinary technician or veterinary assistant roles is a plus, demonstrating familiarity with animal health and care procedures Experience working with animals such as horses or other companion animals is beneficial Excellent communication skills for engaging with pet owners and team members effectively Ability to perform pet nail trimming, coat styling, and animal care tasks with precision and compassion Prior kennel experience or pet sitting background preferred; comfortable with heavy lifting when necessary Strong customer service skills to ensure a positive client experience Join us in creating a welcoming environment where pets feel loved and cared for!
