Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong understanding of various animal handling techniques. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of the animals in our care while maintaining a clean and safe environment. Weekends and Holidays are a requirement. Responsibilities Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising dogs and other pets. Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and common spaces to ensure a hygienic environment. Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the staff or management. Keeping yards, parking lot, and grounds manicured and free of trash. Requirements Previous experience in kennel settings or animal care environments is preferred. Knowledge of dog training techniques and animal handling skills is highly desirable. Experience as a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant is a plus. Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners. Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks associated with animal care. A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare is essential. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, evenings, mornings, and holidays, as needed. Must be able to perform thorough professional pet bathing, including nail trimming, ear cleaning, anal gland expression, and de-shedding.

Pay:

$15.00 - $18.00 per hour
