Nonprofit / Animal Welfare Position Overview A nonprofit animal welfare organization in North Miami Beach is seeking a compassionate and dependable Animal Care Specialist to provide daily care and support for animals in a safe, clean, and caring environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about animal welfare, comfortable working hands-on with animals, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities- Provide daily care, feeding, watering, and monitoring of animals.
- Clean and maintain animal kennels, cages, habitats, and common areas.
- Safely handle and restrain animals as needed.
- Monitor animals for changes in behavior, appetite, appearance, or overall condition.
- Assist with basic animal health and wellness procedures.
- Assist with bathing, grooming, enrichment, and exercise activities.
- Support the safe movement and transportation of animals when needed.
- Follow established sanitation, safety, and animal-handling procedures.
- Provide compassionate care and help create a positive environment for animals awaiting adoption or placement.
- Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and other animal care professionals.
