Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Cat Specialist to provide exceptional care for cats in the shelter environment. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals and the ability to handle cats, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. This role is perfect for individuals who are looking to make a positive impact in the lives of shelter cats. Scheduling is flexible, typical shifts start at 8 am with morning feedings and cleanings. Duties Provide daily care for cats including: feeding, cleaning rooms, cleaning ears, trimming nails. administering medication, vaccinations. monitoring and spotting new and continued health issues Engage with cats through playtime and exercise to promote their physical and mental well-being. Engage with potential adopters to provide information about cats and their temperaments, behaviors and preferences to help match adopters and cats as best as possible. Requirements Previous experience in animal handling or pet care is preferred; experience as a veterinary assistant is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary (e.g., lifting Litter and food bags) Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with the Director, General Manager and Cat Care manager. A genuine passion for animals and commitment to providing high-quality care. Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays. Must be reliable, punctual, and able to manage time efficiently while caring for multiple cats. Availability for shifts from Sunday-Thursday, or Monday-Friday.
Pay:
$15.00 - $16.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 30.0 per week
