Duties Safely handle and restrain animals during bathing, grooming, and coat styling procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety. Perform pet bathing, drying, brushing, coat trimming, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and other grooming tasks with precision and care. Maintain cleanliness of grooming tools, work stations, and bathing areas to uphold hygiene standards. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming needs, special instructions, and after-care advice. Assist with animal handling during kennel cleaning or pet sitting duties as needed. Recognize signs of animal discomfort or health issues and report concerns to veterinary staff or management promptly. Support team members with heavy lifting of animals or equipment when necessary to ensure safety for all. Qualifications Prior experience in pet grooming or animal handling is highly preferred; knowledge of dog training, veterinary technician experience, or veterinary assistant roles is a plus. Strong dog handling skills and animal restraint techniques to ensure safe grooming sessions. Experience with pet coat styling, pet nail trimming, and animal care procedures. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling large or heavy animals. Excellent communication skills for engaging with pet owners and team members effectively. Familiarity with kennel operations, pet sitting duties, and general animal handling practices. Knowledge of veterinary experience or equine experience is advantageous but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential.
