Job Description

Wanted:
People that love dogs. People that enjoy playing a game of fetch for hours at a time. People that understand caring for dogs isn't all snuggles, there is work involved. If this describes you then lets talk about opportunities at The HOP! We're not your typical doggie daycare. We love our dogs like they're our own. We love coming to work and playing with our pack. Dogs run into our daycare as fast as they can. . Their parents appreciate our staff and are constantly expressing their gratitude to our human pack. The role we are looking for is for morning and afternoon dog handlers.
Schedule:
9:00-5:30 or 12:30-6:00 weekdays. Every other Saturday is required.
Commitment:
You need to be over 18 and able to commit to this job for more than 3 months. This is not a job for a high school student or a college student home on break. Expectations & Responsibilities You need to be ready for all the good and the bad that comes with working with dogs. You need to pick up poop and mop up pee very frequently. You must not mind doing a lot of cleaning, including changing mop and poop buckets. You need to dress appropriately to be outside in all weather conditions. Unfortunately even with constant supervision and temperament tests scuffles do happen and you need to be able to get to them fast and help in resolving them. POS System & Math:
You must have intermediate math skills.
Dog Safety:
Keeping the dogs safe and happy is everyone's number one priority. You need to be observant and swift in redirecting inappropriate behavior. You need to enjoy playing with the dogs.
Communication:
Timely communication is vital. You must keep the team informed of anything you notice. Attention to
Detail:
You need to be able to learn all your new friends' names.
Physical & Reliability Requirements:
Must be able to stand for entire shift and lift items up to 35lbs. It's important to show up for your shift on time and be reliable. We aim to have 10 dogs per human and excessive calling out increases this ratio and cuts into the dogs playtime. What you'll get from working at The Home of Paws (HOP) Lot's of wet sloppy dog kisses.
