We provide our groomers with high-quality products, professional equipment, and a calm, one-on-one environment that allows them to focus on each pet rather than rushing through a high-volume schedule. We are looking for an experienced full-time or part-time groomer to join our team. Each workday begins and ends in Lake Orion, with appointments throughout Oakland County. Our model allows groomers to earn more while grooming fewer dogs per day, building lasting relationships with great clients and providing individualized care without the pressure of a traditional high-volume salon. Schedule Our grooming schedule is based on 10-hour workdays, giving groomers more full days off each week.
Full-Time:
4 ten-hour shifts per week
Part-Time:
2-3 ten-hour shifts per week Weekend availability is required Responsibilities Provide professional grooming services including bathing, brushing, haircuts, nail trims, and other routine grooming services. Provide safe, compassionate handling throughout the grooming process. Follow Fear Free principles and adjust handling techniques for anxious, fearful, senior, or sensitive pets. Evaluate the pet's coat, skin, and general condition and communicate any concerns noticed during grooming to the pet owner. Consult with clients regarding grooming preferences, coat condition, maintenance, and realistic expectations. Safely handle and restrain pets when necessary. Safely drive and navigate a mobile grooming van to clients' homes throughout Oakland County. Maintain a clean, sanitized, organized, and professional-looking grooming van throughout the day. Complete end-of-day cleaning and preparation for the following workday. Load and unload laundry, supplies, and other necessary items. Restock the grooming van as needed. Provide professional, respectful customer service and help build long-term client relationships. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of professional dog-grooming experience required. Strong knowledge of different breeds, coat types, grooming styles, and breed-specific grooming needs. Ability to complete quality haircuts independently. Excellent animal-handling skills with an emphasis on safety, patience, and compassion. Comfortable working with nervous, fearful, or sensitive dogs. Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work. Excellent communication and customer-service skills. Ability to work independently and manage a mobile grooming schedule responsibly. Physical ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift or assist dogs when necessary. Valid driver's license and clean driving record required. Must be comfortable safely operating a large grooming vehicle. Reliable and willing to work scheduled weekends.
