REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures, report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or officers. Experience:

Must have at least high school diploma or GED. Prior experience preferred

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Caring for lodging overnight dogs, including preparation of diets, monitoring behavior, conducting playtimes and maintaining a clean and healthy atmosphere for all dogs. Responsible for preparing diets and maintaining all aspects of animal care while at facility Maintain cleanliness of the entire facility (vacuuming, mopping, disinfecting etc) Closely monitor dog behaviors and be able to identify risky behavior and stop it prior to any problems. Works in close contact with the dogs within a group play setting. Cleaning up after the dogs will be necessary (urine/ feces). Daycare staff MUST be confident in posture and attitude to ensure the safety of the group. Performing any other duties as assigned (mowing, snow plowing etc) Ability to follow procedures and protocols exactly

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret oral and written instructions in respect to daily assignments and animal care.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Operations:

Employee must possess entry level personal computer skills, including electronic mail, and ability to schedule appointments.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a physically demanding job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; simple grasping with right and left hands; talk or hear; and lift animals with assistance up to 100 pounds. The employee is required to stand for long hours; walk; power grasp with both right and left hands; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds assisted. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to control nervous or angry animals.

Manual Dexterity:

Employee must have manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceive attributes of objects and materials.

Physical Activity Level:

Employee will be exposed to high physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently exposed to animals that are nervous and potentially volatile. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Animal dander and other allergens may be present. Potential exposure to animal urine and feces including feline feces.
