Dog Boarding and Daycare Shift Lead

Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Shift Lead to join our team. As a Shift Lead, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to the animals in our facility as well as interacting with customers and directing staff. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for animal care and a desire to work in a animal care setting. Annual reviews with raises based on job performance. Also receive tips which average around an additional $3/hour!
Duties:
  • Provide daily care and attention to animals in the kennel, including feeding, watering, and exercise
  • Clean and sanitize kennels and common areas to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Perform grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trims
  • Administer medications, training provided but must be comfortable with giving occasional insulin injections
  • Monitor the health and behavior of animals
  • Maintain accurate records of animal care, medications, and treatments
  • Directing day to day operations at the kennel, including managing staff
  • Communicate issues or concerns to management
  • Checking customers in and out, answering the phone, and responding to messages
Experience:
  • Previous experience working with animals is highly recommended
  • Knowledge of basic animal care practices and procedures is a plus
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately
  • Must be willing to work holidays and in all weather conditions Would be able to work Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 12-7:30pm or 2-7:30pm as well as at least one weekend day.
(12-32 hours available per week depending on prefrebility).
