Puppy Lodge is looking for a dependable, hardworking Canine Care Specialist to help care for dogs staying at our facility. This position is primarily focused on boarding and kennel care. You will spend most of your shift caring for boarded dogs, cleaning and maintaining kennel areas, feeding, providing potty breaks, monitoring dogs, and making sure each dog receives proper care. Daycare assistance may occasionally be needed, but this is not primarily a daycare position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Feed dogs according to individual instructions Provide fresh water throughout the day Take dogs outside for potty breaks and exercise Clean and sanitize kennels Clean food and water bowls Wash bedding, towels, and laundry Prepare clean kennels for arriving dogs Monitor dogs for changes in behavior, appetite, bathroom habits, injuries, or illness Follow medication and special-care instructions Report concerns to management immediately Safely handle dogs of different sizes and temperaments Maintain clean kennel, hallway, outdoor, and common areas Restock supplies and keep work areas organized Assist with boarding arrivals and departures when needed Help other departments when necessary Occasionally assist with daycare supervision if additional help is needed

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must be able to: Stand and walk for extended periods Bend, kneel, squat, and reach Safely handle dogs of various sizes Perform repetitive cleaning duties Work indoors and outdoors Work around barking, shedding, odors, water, and cleaning products

SCHEDULE

Puppy Lodge operates 7 days a week, including weekends and holidays. Weekend and holiday availability may be required. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance are required.

EXPERIENCE

Previous animal-care experience is helpful but not required. Experience in boarding facilities, kennels, veterinary clinics, grooming shops, shelters, or similar environments is a plus. We are willing to train the right person. The ideal candidate is dependable, observant, teachable, hardworking, and comfortable performing the physical and cleaning responsibilities that come with professional dog care.

Pay:

$10.00 - $13.00 per hour
