Experienced Pet Groomer Southern Divine Kennels Pet Grooming, LLC - Lincolnton, NC Southern Divine Kennels Pet Grooming is a family-owned grooming company committed to providing Quality, Comfort, & Care to every pet that comes through our doors. We believe pets are family, and our goal is to provide professional grooming in a safe, clean, compassionate environment. We are looking for an experienced Pet Groomer to join our Lincolnton salon team. About the Position As a Pet Groomer, you will provide professional grooming services while maintaining the safety, comfort, and well-being of every pet in your care. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates well with pet parents, works effectively as part of a team, and understands that great grooming involves both technical skill and excellent customer service. Responsibilities Perform full-service grooms, baths, brush-outs, nail trims, ear cleaning, de-shedding services, and other grooming services. Groom dogs according to pet-parent requests, coat condition, breed standards, and safe grooming practices. Safely handle dogs of different breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments. Conduct an initial assessment of each pet before beginning grooming services. Communicate clearly with pet parents regarding grooming requests, coat condition, matting, behavior, and other relevant concerns. Document grooming notes and important information in the client management system. Recognize and communicate visible skin, coat, ear, nail, or other health concerns without attempting to diagnose medical conditions. Maintain clean and sanitized grooming equipment, tools, workstations, kennels, and salon areas. Follow company safety, sanitation, pet-handling, and operational procedures. Recommend appropriate grooming services and maintenance schedules based on each pet's individual grooming needs. Work cooperatively with groomers, bathers, salon leadership, and other team members. Help provide an excellent customer experience that encourages repeat appointments and long-term client relationships.
Qualifications Preferred:
Minimum 6 months of professional pet grooming experience; 1+ year preferred. Professional grooming school, certification, or equivalent hands-on grooming experience. Ability to independently complete full-service dog grooms. Knowledge of breed-specific cuts, coat types, grooming tools, and safe animal-handling practices. Strong customer-service and communication skills. Ability to manage appointments efficiently while maintaining grooming quality and pet safety. Dependable, professional, and comfortable working as part of a team. Schedule This position is generally scheduled 4-5 days per week . Our salon operates seven days a week, and individual schedules will vary based on business and staffing needs. Applicants should have flexibility for weekday and weekend scheduling, including Sundays as needed . Physical Requirements This is an active, hands-on position. Team members must be able to: Stand for extended periods. Bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive grooming movements. Safely handle and assist with dogs of various sizes. Lift pets and grooming supplies as required to perform essential job duties, with assistance when appropriate.
