Job Summary Please note that this position extends beyond clerical duties and includes direct interaction with animals of varying temperaments and behavior levels. The shelter is seeking a motivated and dependable individual for a temporary, part-time position with the potential to become permanent. This position assists with daily office operations, customer service, shelter support duties, and community outreach efforts. Hours are to be determined and may include occasional evenings, weekends, or special events as needed. Duties Answer incoming phone calls and assist members of the public in a professional and courteous manner Respond to emails and provide accurate information regarding shelter services, animals, and appointments Perform general receptionist and front office duties Schedule appointments for adoptions, owner surrenders, reclaim appointments, and other shelter services Complete data entry and maintain organized digital and paper records File documents and maintain accurate shelter paperwork and reports Assist with shelter events, adoption events, community outreach, and fundraisers Help create and obtain photos/videos and other content for the shelter's social media platforms Assist with dog temperament testing and enrichment activities Stock office and shelter supplies and maintain organized workspaces Assist with cleaning and organization of office, lobby, and supply areas Provide excellent customer service to visitors, adopters, rescues, volunteers, and community members Work cooperatively with shelter staff, volunteers, rescue partners, and animal control officers Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all shelter operations Perform other duties as assigned by the Shelter Director Requirements Proven experience in office management or administrative support roles with strong clerical skills. Proficiency in computer skills. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong phone etiquette and customer service skills to support visitors and callers professionally. Previous experience working at a front desk or in office administration is preferred. Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining accuracy in record keeping. Must be comfortable working with dogs and other animals Dependable, professional, and team-oriented Flexible and willing to assist with a variety of shelter tasks
