Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. This is a 30 hour per week position 8-2 Monday thru Friday, the position opens September 1 as our long time employee is starting a professional internship. As a Kennel Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care and support to our furry friends. This position requires experience in veterinary care, animal handling, and pet care.

Duties:

• Provide daily care for animals in the kennel, including feeding, grooming, and exercise
• Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment
• Monitor the behavior and health of animals, reporting any concerns to the veterinary staff
• Administer medications as directed by veterinarians or veterinary technicians
• Assist with bathing, grooming, and basic pet hygiene tasks
• Handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments with confidence and care
• Assist with basic obedience training for dogs
• Maintain accurate records of animal care and treatment

Experience:

• Previous experience as a veterinary technician, pet groomer, or in a similar role is highly preferred
• Knowledge of animal behavior, health, and nutrition
• Familiarity with basic pet care practices and procedures
• Ability to handle animals safely and confidently
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and veterinary staff
