Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care for our furry friends. Your responsibilities will include assisting with animal handling, providing basic veterinary care, and maintaining a clean and safe environment for the animals.

Duties:

• Provide daily care and feeding for animals in the kennel
• Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas
• Assist with bathing and grooming of animals
• Administer medications as directed by veterinary staff
• Monitor the health and well-being of animals and report any concerns to the team
• Assist with animal restraint during examinations and procedures
• Walk dogs and provide exercise and playtime
• Assist with basic training exercises for dogs
• Maintain accurate records of animal care and treatments

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in a similar animal care role preferred
• Knowledge of basic animal care and handling techniques
• Ability to handle animals with patience, compassion, and confidence
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to think and problem solve and work independently is needed
