We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care for our furry friends. Your responsibilities will include assisting with animal handling, providing basic veterinary care, and maintaining a clean and safe environment for the animals.Duties:
- Provide daily care and feeding for animals in the kennel
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and common areas
- Assist with bathing and grooming of animals
- Administer medications as directed by veterinary staff
- Monitor the health and well-being of animals and report any concerns to the team
- Assist with animal restraint during examinations and procedures
- Walk dogs and provide exercise and playtime
- Assist with basic training exercises for dogs
- Maintain accurate records of animal care and treatments
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in a similar animal care role preferred
- Knowledge of basic animal care and handling techniques
- Ability to handle animals with patience, compassion, and confidence
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to think and problem solve and work independently is needed
