Responsibilities Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, and common areas regularly to maintain a hygienic environment. Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to prevent injury and stress. Assist with feeding, watering, and administering medications as directed by veterinary staff. Support veterinary procedures such as IV insertions, catheterizations, and other animal husbandry tasks. Record detailed notes on animal behavior, health status, and treatment in record-keeping systems. Communicate effectively with team members and visitors about animal needs and care procedures. Assist with intake and discharge processes, including pet identification and documentation. Qualifications Prior kennel or animal handling experience preferred; familiarity with veterinary clinic procedures is a plus. Knowledge of animal behavior, anatomy, physiology, and veterinary terminology is highly desirable. Experience with dog handling, pet care, and animal restraint techniques required. Ability to perform cleaning duties efficiently while adhering to personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols. Basic record keeping skills related to animal care and treatment documentation. Strong communication skills for interacting with team members, volunteers, and visitors. Willingness to learn about veterinary critical care practices, medication administration, and surgical support tasks.
