Job Description

Kennel Assistant This is not just a summer job. The potential employee must be able to work varied shifts, including mornings, weekends, and holidays year round.
Duties:
  • Provide care and support for animals in the kennel facility
  • Feed, water, and exercise animals according to their individual needs
  • Clean kennels, cages, and common areas to maintain a clean and sanitary environment. This is a very physical job.
  • Administer medications or treatments as directed by management
  • Monitor animals for any signs of illness or distress and report any concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Interact with customers and provide excellent customer service
  • Perform receptionist duties including filing, answering phone, providing information to clients, scheduling kennel reservations and grooming appointments.
Requirements:
  • Reliable transportation
  • Flexibility to work various shifts
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting, including lifting animals and carrying supplies
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners
  • Experience with animal care, dog behavior and handling techniques.
  • Ability to understand written instructions
  • Ability to work independently after training is complete
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and follow instructions
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and various shifts
