Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals and a strong commitment to providing excellent care. Duties Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, administering medication as needed, and exercising dogs. Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and common spaces to ensure a safe and healthy environment Monitor the health and behavior of animals, documenting observations on their charts, and reporting any concerns to the kennel manager. Put away donations and deliveries, alerting kennel manager when inventory is low. Ensure that all safety protocols are followed to protect both animals and volunteers. Qualifications Prior kennel experience is preferred or experience with large breed dogs and cats. Ability to lift up to 50# and work in a fast paced (and loud) environment. Must be able to perform physical tasks associated with animal care. This is a primarily a cleaning job but you must be comfortable with small and large breed dogs. Effectively communicate with volunteers to encourage enriching interaction with animals and provide leadership. A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being is essential. Must be at least 18 years old and provide references. This position will be filled as an independent contractor.
