Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Pet Groomer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and a strong commitment to providing excellent care and grooming services. As a Pet Groomer, you will be responsible for ensuring that pets are groomed to the highest standards while maintaining their comfort and safety throughout the process. This role requires a blend of technical skills, animal handling expertise, and customer service abilities. Responsibilities Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for various breeds of dogs and cats. Assess the condition of each pet's coat and skin to determine appropriate grooming techniques. Handle pets safely and effectively during grooming sessions, ensuring their comfort and minimizing stress. Maintain cleanliness of the grooming area, tools, and equipment to ensure a safe environment for both pets and staff. Communicate with pet owners about grooming options, pet care tips, and any concerns regarding their pet's health or behavior. Provide additional services such as ear cleaning, teeth brushing, and skin treatments as needed. Keep accurate records of each pet's grooming history and any special instructions from owners. Requirements Proven experience in dog handling and pet care is essential with at least one year of dog grooming experience required. Strong knowledge of various breeds' grooming needs and techniques. Ability to lift heavy pets (up to 50 pounds) safely and comfortably. Familiarity with animal restraint techniques to ensure safe handling during grooming sessions. Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or veterinary technician is a plus but not required. Excellent communication skills with both pets and their owners; ability to provide exceptional customer service.
