Job Description

Position type: Part-time Reports to: Owner/Manager Position Summary We are seeking a dependable, attentive, and hardworking Part-Time Dog Boarding Attendant to help care for dogs in our facility. This position involves handling dogs of various sizes, maintaining a clean environment, preparing food, and supervising dogs during outdoor activities. Must be able to work some weekends and holidays. Responsibilities Safely handle and walk dogs weighing up to 100 pounds. Supervise dogs while they are outdoors and watch for unsafe behavior or signs of distress. Monitor dogs for overheating, dehydration, illness, injury, or unusual behavior. Provide fresh water and fill food bowls according to each dog's feeding instructions. Pick up and properly dispose of dog waste. Sweep and mop floors and clean kennels, play areas, and other facility spaces. Wash and sanitize food and water bowls. Keep gates, doors, and enclosures secure at all times. Promptly report health, safety, or behavioral concerns to the owner or manager. Follow all cleaning, feeding, animal-handling, and safety procedures. Qualifications Must be comfortable working with dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments. Must be physically capable of controlling and walking dogs weighing up to 100 pounds. Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and perform cleaning duties throughout the shift. Able to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Dependable, punctual, observant, and able to follow written and verbal instructions. Willing to work around dog hair, waste, odors, barking, cleaning products, and wet floors. Previous animal-care or kennel experience is preferred but not required. Must have reliable transportation and be available for assigned shifts. Weekend and holiday availability may be required. Physical Requirements This position regularly requires standing and walking for extended periods, bending, squatting, lifting supplies, and handling strong or energetic dogs weighing up to 100 pounds.
