Job Description
Job Overview Join our team as a Groomer's Assistant! You'll work closely with the groomer to help dogs feel safe and comfortable throughout their visit. This is a hands-on position where you'll gain experience with bathing, drying, brushing, nail care and daily salon operations while being part of a supportive team that genuinely cares about the dogs we work with. Duties Bathing dogs using the appropriate shampoos, conditioners and bathing techniques Drying and brushing dogs thoroughly while keeping them comfortable and safely handled Trimming and filing nails according to each dog's comfort level Providing friendly and professional customer service, including answering messages, scheduling appointments and assisting clients during drop-off and pickup Cleaning and maintaining the entire salon, including grooming areas, bathing stations, kennels, floors, common areas, tools and equipment Assisting the groomer with handling dogs, preparing supplies and other tasks as needed Experience Prior experience in dog handling, animal handling or pet care is highly desirable Knowledge of dog training techniques or veterinary experience is a plus Experience working as a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant provides valuable insight into animal health needs Familiarity with equine or other large animal handling is beneficial but not required Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners Previous kennel experience or pet sitting background is advantageous Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting and prolonged standing; excellent animal restraint skills are essential Join our team and help us create a positive grooming experience for every dog in our care.
